Show NEVADA yerington times F C everett has an eight horse team engaged hauling a 5 stamp mill from delphi to wabuska babuska Wa buska the mill is to go to keeler where mr everett is interested te rested in cleaning up an old slag pile eureka sentinel reports from hamilton state that a big body of fine ore was opened up last week in the lowest workings of the rocco homestake mine near hamilton the strike is in virgin ground and making strong into the east ely news R A came over fro from in osceola friday and while here purchased for the pilot knob gold mining company of that place seven pack mules and complete outfit from J Cava ligia of lane city the mules will be used to pack the ore from the companas comp anys mines to their mill on willard creek which is now in operation eureka sentinel charles was over from hamilton the first of the week and stated that all the materials and machinery for the ne plus ultras new steam hoisting plant were on the ground and were being put together in the recently completed building it is thought the plant will be ready to start the first of the month yerington times M J heller one of the parties interested in the purchase of t the he bluestone mine arrived here monday and has made arrangements for considerable development work to be done on the property in the next six months mr C S week weck was an arrival here thursday and is to act as superintendent of the property iud aud J W logan will act as foreman there is considerable preparatory work to do such as putting in track and reinstalling the hoist and when this is completed from twenty to thirty miners will find work at the bluestone for some months to come eureka sentinel 0 K reed was an arrival in eureka wednesday from reveille nye county looking for miners to go to work in the last chance mine at that place mr reed says the mine is looking fine and that new bodies of rich lead ore are being opened up thirty men are now employed and wages are 3 a day board is 1 a day the new road to tonopah is completed and the distance to that camp from reveille by wagon road is now fifty five miles eight large teams are hauling ore to tonopah at 15 a ton and the same rate is paid I 1 on whatever back freight there is the T J lynch company recently purchased stock with a view of putting some teams of its own on the road but it is thought that the company will not do all its own hauling A dayton dispatch says it is not everyone thohas a mine in his bis own yard where he can work whenever he wishes and make good wages but C J orth of dayton is lucky in this respect last fall he dug a well in his front yard thirty five feet deep the entire distance was through coarse gravel which mr orth sampled from time to time and found contained gold last s spring pring he rigged up a process to screen and wash the gravel taken from the well and obtained in gold from it during the summer he has started an incline and will tunnel the entire yard every day he works at it washing the ground with water from a gallon tank and makes good wages for his labor mr plan is to tunnel along one side of the yard then work back along the same tunnel filling it in as he goes with the waste tiie the ground pays from the surface but gets better as the depth increases the present incline of the tunnel will run it to a depth of about eighteen feet 0 |
