Show Pioneer Lady Passes Away Kirs. Mary D. Taylor Dies At Home In Freedom Mrs. Mary Delma Draper Taylor, Tay-lor, S6. widow of the late Adol-phus Adol-phus Taylor, died at the family home in Freedom last Friday morning of causes incident to age. . Mrs. Taylor was the first school teacher in Freedom and also served many vears as secretary sec-retary and teacher in the ward Relief society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was born February 10, 1S60, in Draper, Salt Lake county, coun-ty, a daughter of William L. and Anne Eckerley Draper. As a child she lived in Rockville before coming to Freedom to make her home. She was married mar-ried in Feedom to Adolphus Taylor July 13, 1S79. She was the mother of eight children and also reared seven grandchildren. grand-children. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Erma Livingston of Salt Lake City; three sons, Haler Taylor, Chehalis, Washington: Adolohus and Glen Taylor, Freedom; seventeen sev-enteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; four brothers, broth-ers, Lorin Draper, Fielding, Col-ordo; Col-ordo; Willis Draper, Mt. Pleasant; Pleas-ant; Willard Draper, Salt Lake City; and Leigh Draper, Center field; six sisters, Mrs. Susie D. Larsen, Salina; Mrs. Emma Chase, Nephi; Mrs. Pearl Wool-ley, Wool-ley, Vernal; Mrs. Etta Johnson, California; Mrs. Laura Petersen, Manti. and Mrs. Zoe Sorensen of Ogden. Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor Tay-lor were held at Freedom last Monday at 1 p. m. with Counselor Coun-selor Rulon Johnson conducting. conduct-ing. The Moroni West ward choir sang "Rock of Ages" after which the opening prayer was offered by Deon Livingston. An organ solo was played by Mrs. Ophelia Rhodes and the first speaker was Soren C. Nielson; vocal duet, du-et, Mrs. Grace Westenskow and Lewis Blackham; speaker, Mrs. Myrum Lund of Fountain Green; vocal solo, Mrs. Clara Larson; speaker, Mrs. Vilate Anderson; choir, "Sometime We'll Understand"; Under-stand"; and the closing prayer was given by Bishop Davis of Wales. Interment was in Freedom cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Bishop Ephraim Nelson. |
