Show Miss Caileen Robinson . Selected Centennial Queen Miss Caileen Robinson, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Robinson, Robin-son, American Fork, Utah, has been selected as Centennial Queen to serve the whole state during the year of 1947, Gus P. Backman, director-general of the Utah Centennial celebration has announced. The contest to select the queen was conducted by the state organization of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Selected to serve with her as aides are Marie Burnett of Salt Lake City, and Mary Louise Gardner of Spanish Fork. Thus, Utah county won two of the three places, first and third, firmly establishing itself in the leadership of pioneer beauty. The new Centennial Queen was Princess of Covered Wagon Days in 1941, this year was elected Freshman Queen of the University of Utah, and only a week before winning the Centennial Cen-tennial crown, was named Utah Celery Queen. The queen will be a guest of honor, rifting a Utah Centennial Centen-nial float, in the Tournament of Roses parade at Pasadena, January 1. |
