Show NOTICE OF INTENT TO ABANDON OR TO DISCONTINUE RAIL SERVICE UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY gives notice that on or about July 6, 1592 it intends to file with the Interstate Commerce Commission, Washington, D.C. 20423, a petition for exemption under 49 U.S.C. Section 10505 from the prior approval requirements of 49 U.S.C. Section 10903, et seq. , permitting the abandonment of and discontinuance of service on a 0.268-milc line of railroad known as the Syracuse Branch between railroad milcpost 2.1S2 and railroad milepost 2.45, near Barnes, in Davis County, Utah. The proceeding will be docketed as No. AB-33 (Sub-No. 75 X). The Commission's Section of Energy and Environment (SEE) will generally prepare an Environment Assessment (EA), which win normally be available 60 days after the filing of the fen I ion for abandonment exemption. Comments on environmental and energy matters should be filed no later than 30 days after the EA becomes w available to the public and will be addressed in a Commission decision. Interested persons may obtain a xpy of the EA or make inquiries regarding environmental matters by writing to SEE, Interstate Commerce Commission, Com-mission, Washington. D.C. 20423 or by calling SEE at (202) 927-7684. Appropriate offers of financial assistance to continue rail service can be, filed with the Commission. Requests for environmental conditions, public use condidons, or rail banking trails also can be filed with the Commission. Questions regarding offers of financial assistance, public use or trails use may be directed to the Commission's Office of Public Assistance at (202) 927-7597.
