Show Community SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS 13 3rd Annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament slated for May 27 The 3rd Annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 27, 1995 at the Kanab Middle School starting at 8 a.m. The event this year is a fundraiser for Kanab Youth Football. Coordinator Rod Quamberg is excited about the support he is receiving from local merchants who want to help. Sponsors lined up so far include Kanab City, Moqui Cave, Coral Cliffs Golf Course, Taco Time, Kane County Travel Council, Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Century 2 1 Frontier Realty, Honey's IGA, Chamberlain, Higbee & Macfarlane, Chefs Palace, Dr. Vaughn Jackson, Nature's Showcase, State Bank of Southern Utah, Glazier's Food Town, Crosby's Home Center, Denny's Wigwam, Ace Hardware, Junc- tion Drive In, Frostop, Houston's, Stampin' Up, and Nick's Shell. Triple Challenge Basketball Tournament "1 Mark your calendar! Games are scheduled for Saturday, May 27, 1995, from 8 a.m. till ? 2. A team can consist of 3 or 4 players: 3 starters and 1 substitute. 3. Teams will be grouped in divisions with similar teams based on average age, height and playing ability. 4. Each division will consist of two groups tournament format. The top forming a round-robi- n three teams from each group will advance to play for the divisional title. 5. Divisional champions and runners-u- p will receive prizes. 6. Scoring: one point per basket; two points for shots made over 20 feet. First team to 16 points, up by a least two, wins; or team ahead after 30 minutes wins. Possession alternates after each basket. 7. Excessive fouling and rough play is unacceptable and will not be allowed. We reserve the right to eject any player for improper conduct. 8.
