Show UTAH TRANSIT AUTHORITY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING RE: Capital Grant Applications Applica-tions Amendments for purchase of 21 diesel coaches B I. NOTICE IS HEREBY 1 GIVEN that a public hearing 1 will be held by the Utah Tran- 1 sit Authority on Thursday, 5 January 5, 1984, at 4:00 p.m. at the Utah Transit Authority, I Board Room, 3600 South 700 1 West, Salt Lake City, Utah, for the purpose of considering amendments to applications I for Federal financial assist- I ance under the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as H amended. II. The grant amendments 8 are for a project generally de- S scribed as follows: i A. Description of Project B Purchase of 21 new 35- j$ foot 36 to 45 passenger S3 diesel coaches for replace- S8 ment purposes. The total estimated project cost is 3 $3,514,500. The Federal 1 share is $2,81 1,600. and will 1 be provided through i amendments to existing 1 UMTA Section 3 projects 1 UT-03-0907 and UT-03- 0011, UMTA Section 5 pro- jects UT-05-0002. UT-05- 0003 and UT-05-0005, and UMTA Section 9A project UT-90-0001. The local share of $702,900 will be provided by the UTA from 1 sales tax revenues as autho- ! rized by statute under the I Utah Local Option Sales j Tax Public Transit Alloca- tion Act of 1974, and subsequently subse-quently approved by re- ferendum in Salt Lake, B Davis and Weber Counties. B. RclwHlion No persons, families or businesses will be displaced dis-placed due to the activities to be completed as part of this project. C. Environment The proposed project will have no significant environmental en-vironmental impacts upon the OgdenSalt Lake urban area. D. Comprehensive Planning Plan-ning T his project is in conformance con-formance with the comprehensive compre-hensive land use and transportation trans-portation planning in the area. E. Elderly and Handicapped Hand-icapped The actions of this project pro-ject will not adversely affect the elderly or handicapped. hand-icapped. UTA maintains a policy of reduced fares for elderly and handicapped persons. III. At the hearing, the Utah Transit Authority will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, so-cial, economic and environmental environ-mental aspects of the project. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing evidence and recommendations with respect re-spect to said project. Written comments should be forwarded for-warded to Mr. John Pingree, General Manager, Utah Transit Tran-sit Authority, P.O. Box 31810, Salt Lake City, Utah 84131 and postmarked no later than January Janu-ary 5, 1984. Persons desiring to be heard at the public hearing concerning concern-ing the proposed capital grant amendments may either call Jerri Ashurst, at the UTA offices at 262-5626, to have their names listed on the roster of persons to be heard or rna indicate their desire to speak al the time of the pub'ic hearing. IV. A copy of the amendments amend-ments are available for inspection inspec-tion at the office of Mr. John Pingree, at 3600 South 7(K)b west, Salt Lake City, Ulah, and at the Wasatch Front Regional Re-gional Council at 420 West 1500 South, Suite 200, Bountiful, Bounti-ful, Utah, and will also be available for inspection at the public hearing.
