Show Four-H Club Winner Has Service Record . Fern Zollinger, an all-around 4-H club girl of proviaence, who was recently notified that she would be awarded a trip to the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago, in recognition for her many activities as both member and leader, has a enviable record. Fern began her club work six years ago as a member of a Cache county dothing club in which she learned, among other things, "to make clothing serviceable and how to choose her wearing apparel ec- onomically." In her clothing club report she reveals some of the joys she has experienced; here's one: "I feei very proud when I take a gar--ment I have made to mother and hear her say, 'Just as good as I could have done maybe better'." After four years as a 4-H clothing cloth-ing club member Fern joined a foods club, in which she carried on extensive work in both food preparation and canning. Food demonstrations became her speciality and she represented' her county twice at the State Fair. "When speaking of club work Fem says that "giving demonstrations In public has taught me to have self confidence and to control my -feelings." Her meritorious work as a club member brought her added responsibilities: re-sponsibilities: she became a leader lead-er of the "Superior Cookerettes" and she has trained girls that have won numerous blue ribbons at county and state fairs. Fern is a graduate of the South Cache high school and is now attending at-tending the Utah State Agricultural Agricul-tural college. |
