Show THE CONTINUOUS TALKER The newspaper funny man has a crack about the lady who had completely lost her voice. A neighbor said it would be a nice time to go over and have a good talk with her. Many persons talk so continuously that, as the remark re-mark is made, "You can't get a word in edgewise."! Inere is little satisfaction in conversation with such persons. Perhaps they enjoy the sound of their own voices They have a certain fluency of thought and speech and oftentmies a grasp of detail which are-1 useful gifts if properly controlled. When such people hold the floor, there is no real conversation. Good talk is an exchange , of views, and no one has learned the art of conversation until he has formed the habit of listening a good part of the time The continuous talker is not always wise, because he gives the world so little chance to talk to him |
