Show SERVICES HELD FOR . LAURETTA P. HARi'S Funeral services for Mrs. Lauretta Lau-retta Harris who passed away Sunday Sun-day at a local hospital were held WedrTesday afternoon at the Fourth ward chapel with counselor Albert Al-bert McCann conducting. The ward choir under the direction of Mrs. S. Hymas with Mrs. Harry Michaels at the organ, sang three selections. The speakers who paid tribute to the noble life of Mrs. Harris, were John H Peterson, Dr. G. L. Rees. Mrs. Leanord Ol-sen, Ol-sen, and Mr. Albert McCann. Special musical numbers were: vocal duet, Florence and Rebecca Rebec-ca Lewis; vocal solo, Mrs. Jean Lundquist, acompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lundquist. Prayers were offered by Leonard Leon-ard Olsen, and Aquilla Noble. The grave at the Smithfieid cemetery was dedicated by Bishop C. J. Plowman. The beautiful display of flowers were in chrage of Miss Eva Plowman and Gladys Noble. Lauretta Plowman Harris, wife of Lamont Harris of Smithfieid, died at Logan, November 2, 1941, after .several weeks illness. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Thompson and L. J. Plowman who were early pioneers of this community, com-munity, and was born October 12, 1893, at Smithfieid, where she later received her education. She was married to Lamont Harris, July Ju-ly 10, 1912, and to them were born four children, Mrs. Jean Hatch of Burley Idaho, Alden, Max and Larry Harris. She is also survived sur-vived by her husband and four grandchildren, a brother, L. R. Plowman, and a sister, Mrs. Austin Aus-tin Pitcher, all of Smithfieid. Since her marriage she has lived at Sugar City, Idaho, Amalga and Smithfieid, Utah, where her husband hus-band is employed at the sugar factory. Mrs. Harris possessed a very cheerful and friendly disposition, and was a devoted wife and mother; loved her home and fam- ily. She was active in the church I as far as her health permitted and .filled a number of responsible po-1 sitions. She was counselor in the i Primary and later served as president presi-dent for a number of years; she was a Relief Society teacher, an officer in the YL.L.M.I.A., committee com-mittee member of the Genealogical Society, a member of the Daughters Daugh-ters of Utah Pioneers. She was a dependable worker and served with credit and her loss will be felt among a wide circle of friends and relaitves. |
