WEBER CLUB EXCURSION COMMITTEE VISIT promontory facilities for bathing arc enthusiastically reported on other attractions tr scheduled from mondays standard for the purpose of inspecting the bathing in the great salt lake at promontory point in connection with the weber club excursion to be given on labor day a committee composed of dr R S joyc D A smyth P H cook fred burt mayor glasmann F J ikirt and A kennedy made a trip to the point yesterday upon their return the party were full of praises tor the excellent bathing that they bad experienced they state that the bottom Is of clear white sand which seemed like a velvet carpet when trodden and that any depth desired may be had at this point the following report was made to president 0 B of the weber club by the committee upon their return to this city the report speaks tor itself we the undersigner undersigned under signed visited the at promontory point today and enjoyed a hath in the great salt lake we state ahat the bathing I 1 the best we have ever experienced in the lake the bottom Is of the cleanest white sand and the water is clear and free from the impurities witnessed at the other bathing places on the lake you need have no hesitancy in guaranteeing an that the best bathing on great salt lake will be given by the weber club on labor day at promontory point R S JOYCE FRANK J HIRT D A SMYTH A KENNEDY WM GLASMANN FRED A BURT P H COOK committee among the many features arranged for the day at promontory point will be rabbit and coyote coursing by greyhounds grey hounds D T smyth will start his pack of ten greyhounds grey hounds in pursuit of half a dozen rabbits and a full grown coyote and will forfeit 10 it the hounds tall to catch them all in order to get he rabbits required mr smyth will pax 1 a piece to any one providing them and wil give also the sum of 5 for a coyote which must be full this new feature will be among the most interesting of the day
