| Show WESTERN PACIFIC work Is to begin at beckwith pass september 4 it Is announced from reno nov that active work on the construction of the western pacific railway will begin september 4 at beckwith pass at which time thousands of men will be employed constructing the road bed it Is said the work will be continued until the transcontinental road Is completed the contracts have been signed the contractors are arriving and are getting everything in readiness to begin the active construction of the road this it is said will be completed and the system will be in operation within two years from the time the first of earth is thrown the western pacific has practically closed negotiations for ue purchase of the virginia truckee railroad and it Is proposed to make it a branch of the main line starting at a point some miles north of reno and continuing through to the southern point of nevada |
