Thirty-odd prominent business men of Suit Lake composed the party. In the party were, George Steiner, president Salt Lake Commercial club; S. II. Clay, secretary. Salt Lake Commercial club; Will G. Farrel, former secretary, Salt Lake Commercial Commer-cial club; G. T, Brooke, Crane company, com-pany, plumbers; Alonzo Young, Z. C. M. I.; F A Tyke and Harold Pyko, of Marshall-Tyke company, wholesale notions: W. L. McCarthy, traffic manager. Salt Lake Hardware company: Den. It. Eldridge, agricultural agricul-tural expert; V. A. Rottilyon, of the Dcttllyon Homo liuildcrs company; J. II. Lewis, Culmcrs company, lubricating lu-bricating oils and gasoline; Wm. En-ger, En-ger, Culmers company; A. II. Wood-ard, Wood-ard, W. II Lynn. Lee Wright, Z. C. M. I; W. W. Calder, C. W. and M. company; It. J. Dinwiddle, Inter-mountain Inter-mountain Electric company; J. II. Campbell, Capital Electric company; (. C. Colt; E. II. Mehan, Salt Lake Telegram. But very few of these men had ever been to the Uintah basin before. Mr. Steiner, president of the Salt lala Commercial club was lavish in his praises of what he has seen. He declared it to be the most delightful de-lightful trade excursion ever made out of Salt Lake. Will G. Farrel former nccretary of the Salt Lake Commercial club, has been boosting this country for a long time, but he had no idea he v,as boosting Just such a wonderful country as he has found. He had read much literature published but he now makes the I I statement that In order to really know one must see. F. A. Pyke, is chairman of the commerce com-merce committee of the club. Mr. McCarthy, of the traflic department of the Salt Lake Hardware company has done a great deal toward securing secur-ing lower freight rates Into Salt Lake. With the party was County Commissioner Com-missioner J. E. L, Carey, of Fruit-land, Fruit-land, who went out to Salt Lake a few days ago on business in connection connec-tion with the county boundary dispute, dis-pute, At Fruitland Mr. Carey and friends in that community, treated the boosters to a big chicken dinner. It was planned to feed them on mountain trout, but that proved impossible. im-possible. The start was made from Salt Lake last Sunday night about 7 o'clock. The night was spent at Provo, and early Monday morning the Journey was resumed by way of Spanish Fork canyon and the Strawberry project. Monday night was spent at Duchesne where a reception was held. A dance followed. Tho people of Duchesne entertained the visitors royally. Only a short time was spent in Myton, getting acquainted. Today the visitors will take in the fair. From Myton the run was made to Hayden, where lunch was served. Tuesday night Vernal entertained the party with a big Commercial club reception and dinner. Yesterday the return to Roosevelt was made and there they were met by the leading business men oft hat city. A feature fea-ture was a trip through part of the north country- ! |
