Show U. Anticipates Record Year The University of Utah expects ex-pects an enrollment of S000 students stu-dents this fall, Dr. A. Ray Olpin, president, announced this week. Of this number, 5000 will be veterans vet-erans attending school under the GI bill of rights. The 8000 students will be almost al-most twice as many as the highest high-est number ever enroHed at the university in prewar years. Utah j residents are being given first consideration in admitting new 'students, Dr. Olpin said. A "C" average in high school is required requir-ed of Utah residents, while out of state students must present at least a "B" average for admission. admis-sion. Students transferring to the university from other Utah colleges and junior colleges are required only to have a "C" average. av-erage. Prospective students are urged to make application for admission admis-sion to the university as soon as possible. Further information can be obtained by writing to the president's office, while transcipts of high school or college col-lege records can be sent directly to the registrar's offioe. To meet the needs of the record rec-ord enrollment expected next fall', the university has greatly expanded its instructional staff and physical facilities. |
