Show Game Board Sets Dates Of Deer Hunt Utah's board pf big game control, con-trol, following a series of meetings meet-ings with sportsmen and stock-growers stock-growers throughout the state, has authrized the issuance of 11.775 female jdeer permits for the 1910 fall hunting season, Ross Leonard, state fish and game director, announced today. This number, he pointed out, will be (the lowest issue of doe permits since 1939. In 19-15, the big game board authorized 14,500 permits. In addition, the board has authorized au-thorized 5000 permits for the taking of deer of either sex. These hunts will be conducted on;problem areas throughout the state, most of them to follow the regular deer seasn, Oct.' 19 through Oct. 29. Last year, 1000 permits were authorized for the taking of deer of either sex, plus 900 additional permits for bucks only In keeping with statewide reports re-ports noting an increase in Utah's elk herd, the board authorized au-thorized issuance of 1000 elk Permits Per-mits as compared to J700 last year. 946's hunting seasons will be as follows: Regular deer Season (established (estab-lished by law) , Oct. 19 through Oct. 29. . Post-season deer hunts, Nov. 30 through Dec. 9. Elk) season, Nov. 7 through Nov. 16. One exception to the regular deer season '.was established, on the LaSal unit of the Uinta forest for-est where the season will extend from Oct. 19 through Nov. 10. The board 'also has authorized Issuance of 75 permits for buck antelope. Thp season will be set later. The antelope hunt will be conducted In Brown's Park, or that section of the' state north and east of the Green River in Daggett County. ' |
