The baby's father served three years with the armed forces in Italy and this is his second child. Ella and Strat are spending the summer in their lovely canyon home in Emigration Em-igration while work is going ahead on their new home on 21st East and Hubbard Ave. The Jed Ashtons are enjoying a trip to the northwest and the last word of them is that they are on a steamer headed forBrit-ish forBrit-ish Columbia. We hope the cool sea breezes fortify them enough for our nice 'warm weather when they return home. State Senator and Mrs. Grant Macfarlane's daughter, Marilyn Mari-lyn is wearing Max Halliday's Beta pin. Max pinned it on her k a week ago while dancing and romancing atop the Starlite Gardens. He is the son of the Eugene M. Hallidays, 3766 S. 20th E. Wendell J. Ashton, president of the Sugar House Camp, Sons of the Utah Pioneers was elected elect-ed state president of the organization or-ganization at its annual outing held Monday at Lagoon. He succeeds Harold H. Jenson. Mr. Ashton, who resides at 2215 Oneida Street has been prominent in Sugar House activities activi-ties for many years. He is a past president of the 'Sugar House Chamber of Commerce, and is now a member of the Salt Lake City Zoning Commission. Commis-sion. He is general secretary of the Deseret Sunday School Union Un-ion of the L. D. S. Church. |
