Show OF INTEREST TO I. O. O. F. I I I Recently Charles A. Stain. Grand Secretary, I. O O F. received a letter let-ter from Parfey P. Christenren.who is visiting his old home in Denmark, in which he says: "Last night I visited the Hafnia Lodge of the I. O. O. F. here in Copenhagen Co-penhagen and was given a most impressive im-pressive welcome. I was the guest of, the Grand Sire, Dr. Petrus Beyer. After the business of the lodge wpj concluded we retired to the large lodge room where the Hafnia united with another lodge and' conferred the initiatory degree. The work was all done in Danish, of course, but it was very impressively presented, and so far as I could Judge all letter perfect. per-fect. One of the candidates was from Hesingfors, Finland, and at the banquet ban-quet which followed, it was announced announc-ed that he was going to organize the first lodge in Finland. Finland, you know, under the reign of the Czar, was not allowed to have Odd Fellows' Lodges. On Wednesday, I shall again be the guest of the Grand Sire of Denmark Den-mark at a musical, following which we are to have another banquet. On Friday, I am invited to a drive with the Grand Sire and his wife during which we are to vsit the Odd Fellows' Home, and in the evening attend a session with the Rebekahs. The Grand Sire seems to know you quite well. He talks about Brother Stain of Utah with considerable familiarity fam-iliarity and informed me he had been advised of my coming to Denmark long before I arrived. You are always doing nice things, Charley, and I want to thank you for your thought-fulness. thought-fulness. The Odd Fellows 1n Denmark are very progressive. They have a mag-nficent mag-nficent temple and a very active mem bership. I think there are 14 good, big, prosperous lodges in the rity of Copenhagen. Naturally, I have not. much time for private correspondence, and so you will give my very kindest regards re-gards to the brothers at home and lot it go at that." Exchange |
