Show Testing Child's Musical Ability Musical ability in a child can bo well judged by testing five facilities : The sense of pitch, which Is the ability abil-ity to discriminate between higher and lower toues; the sense of time or rhvthm; the sense of consonance, which is the ability to tell what is more pleasing and what is less pleasing pleas-ing ; the sense of intensity ; and musical mu-sical memory, or the ability to remember remem-ber a number of tones from hearing them once. Those qualifications are probably in large measure inherited, for very young children sometimes have them. Youth's Companion. |
