Show THE FREE FARM MARKETING BULLETINS BUL-LETINS U. P. January 17, 1922 To the Editor The Union Pacific system, with a sincere desire to he of material assistance, assis-tance, takes pleasure 1n announcing the resumption of its free Farm Marketing Bulletin service, effective February 15th, 1922, with Bulletin No. 14. The re-installation of the free bulletin bul-letin service is intended as a helpful help-ful and co-operative measure, which will afford the small farmer in Union Pacific territory, a channel through which he may find a market for agricultural agri-cultural or horticultural products, pure-bred livestock, or seed, which I he may wish to dispose of, or to j make his wants in this respect known. Our previous issuance of the Farm Marketing Bulletin amply demonstrated demon-strated its value as a medium of exchange, ex-change, as oftentimes, through Its use, close neighbors were thus acquainted ac-quainted with markets, among themselves, them-selves, previously unknown to them, or with opportunities to secure livestock, live-stock, seed or other agricultural products pro-ducts that they wanted but did not know where to find; and for those reasons, we feel that the present is an opportune time to re-install this service. It is expected that Farm Marketing Market-ing Bulletin will have a circulation of 5000 copies per month, and will be distributed to all Station Agents of the Union- Pacific system and to other railroad representatives, -to county agricultural agents, to the heads of farm bureaus, bankers, etc., who will be askedi to post them in their respective places of business. Owing to the limited size of the bulletin the items submitted for publication pub-lication should be confined to purebred pure-bred livestock, pure-bred seed, and other high class agricultural and horticultural products. It should be fully understood that lyfreeandthatNow is the time forarad this bulletin service will be absolutely absolute-ly free and that no charge, whatever will be made to anyone taking advantage ad-vantage of it. Under the circumstances, circum-stances, we feel sure that we can count on the hearty support of your newspaper, and others in Union Pocl-fic Pocl-fic territory, bearing in mind that we are undertaking the work in a -nirit of helpful co-operation; and we thank you in advance for any mention you may give the matter In your publication. Yours truly R. A. SMITH Superintendent of Agriculture. |
