NEWS BUREAU Folk songs, patriotic songs and popular songs will be taught to the people of Utah communities together with special courses in art applied to the home, according to a recent announcement an-nouncement by the University nt Utah Extension division. i "This services grows from the con-j vlction that Utah people are more' than passingly interested in the adequate ade-quate expression of beauty in their daily lives." said Professor Fred W. Reynolds, head of the University I tension department. This instruction in music will include in-clude community music in which there will be laboratory practice in conducting mass singing, as well as musical application which will Include In-clude the study of great masters and will familiarize the people with mule mu-le of our own day. A special feature of the work will be a course for the mothers. Thi3 will consist of teaching teach-ing oT songs of child life. Art in the Tiome will be studied with special attention to artistic use of color and design in the home; furniture; fur-niture; beauty in dress; and pictures and decorations. . |
