Show Freshman Future Farmers Take Part In Conservation Speech Competition Upper Sevier Soil Conservation District held Its annual Speech Contest on Feb. 24 at the Flying M Cafe. Five boys from the Freshman Future Farmers of America Class Panguitch High School participated, under the direction of Mr. Jack Soper, their instructor. Forest Crofts won the first place cash award of $7.50, Russell Bridges won second place. $5.00, and Tommy John- son won third place, $2.50. Richard Sawyer and Greg Ex-cell also participated in the contest. One of the requirements of the contest is that each boy speak on some phase of conservation. They are Judged on the subject material as well as the way they deliver the speech. This contest Is an annual event sponsored by the Upper Sevier Soil Conservation District. |
