This should make a lot of grass grow on the range so those old rich guys can trudge In to gaze at it. This Is the kind of winter they had In the olden days but this modern living is not adapted to it. We visited with Daniel and Orilla Cowles, she is gradually getting better, can get up for brief Intervals and has lowered the foot of her bed about half. She has a real good attitude and Daniel is giving her the best of care. Ervin Burrows returned to Page with Dr. Kazan and had his appendix removed. Sox and Effle Spencer have son Hal home on furlough from the Navy, he has Just completed 27 months In Viet Nam. Jimmy Peterson visited relatives here before going into the Navy for four years. Calvin and Laretta Shurtz had his sister, Idonn Black, Verl and Maxine Shurtz of Salt Lake City here. The Otto Roundys had son Vernon Dean, wife Peg and Renon and Gene Reed and girls here from Mon roe. Lorenzo and Ruth Griffin had daughter Lois, and husband Evan Reeves and their twin daughters from Las Vegas. Val Veater was here on State Road business. Forest and State employees were In Panguitch for a meeting, others having business there were Lana Livingston. Gall Spencer. Melba Gates, Evadean Liston. and Lanora Griffin. Dennis Heap Is In town training horses. The Blake Robinsons had Ruth and Mate Baugh and family. Elda Haws went to Salt Lake to see their new granddaughter bom to Jeanle and Martin Stock. Nellie Bailey accompanied her and their family members were worried about road conditions. Winona Boyle went to Salt Lake to visit daughter Sheni. Visitors at the Arthur Mclnelly home were daughter Grena, Lynn and Judy Griffin of Salt Lake and Detma and Glade Reynolds of Richfield. Florence Alvey went to Hen-i vi Hi- and brought her sister Mildred Deuel here for a visit Mildred is improving slowly bul deflnately Dale Wilson was home for the weekend and brought Terry Gates and his friend David Monson. Jolynn Griffin waited until Saturday to come home so Don Shurtz and Lola Liston could accompany her and attend the wedding reception. Forest Service employee, Lee Evison was transferred to Panguitch. The Hode Alveys had daughter Ge-neal and her friend Blair here from Salt Lake. In Sacrament meeting Sunday the South ward speaker was Conrad Johnson, son of the Thorley Johnsons of Henrieville, he reported his mission to England. The North ward program was put on by Garl and Patsy Cottam and family .Their son Tommy la leaving for the North British mission, he goes into the mission home March 22, and leaves March 27th. He and relatives went to St. George Saturday to a session at the temple, both sets of grandparents, the Usher Spencers and the Lorin Cottams, and they all came back here to spend Sunday. Elna Creek and one daughter came also. Usher and Eva brought Is abell Spencer home, Andrew could not stand the damp weather and was going to Calif, to stay with daughter Geneal. The Vernon Stowes had son Ronnie and wife for the weekend. Ivan Willis and Bill Lamb had business in Kanab, Kathy accompanied them and got a bit nervous over pulling a horse trailer on the slick roads. Half of the population went to St. George for the triple header attraction; a wedding. .i missionary and a ball game. The Price team played Dixie and Boyd Griffin was the drawing card, his team won. Betty Hill and daughter Jams went down. Verl Hardwick and daughter Vona Kae West flew down from Salt Lake for the wedding then came here. Rulon and Lars Peterson and wives were in Dixie but did not come here. If you feel Inclined to grumble about the cold and snow, it's so sloppy underfoot you can't get out and go, Just dig back In your memory of all the summer heat, the weeds to hoe, the grass to cut that leaves you really beat.
