Show Samuel Norman, Formerly of Layton, Dies at Blackfoot Funeral services for Samuel Norman, 82, resident of Blackfoot, 26 years and former resident of Layton, Utah were held Wnesday afternoon from the L. D. S. First ward. Death occured Sunday follow ing one day illness from a heart attack. at-tack. He had been in good health until about noon, Saturday when he was stricken with a heart attack from which he failed to rally. He was born March 31, 1854 in England. Joined the British navy when 14 years of age. Joined the L. D. S. church and come to Lay-ton, Lay-ton, Utah, in 1877. He is survived by five children: Mrs. J. J. Bennett of Syracuse, Utah; John S. of Blackfoot; Mrs. W. II. Beesley of Pocatello and Alma Al-ma and Jenas of Blackfoot; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grand chldren. Opening song by the chorus, "Sometime We'll Understand," Invocation, In-vocation, John Rider; speakers were, Bishop David E. Layton of Layton, Utah; Bishop James E. Ellison of Layton and L. R. Thomas Thom-as of Black foot. Violin solo, "Oh My Father" by Ronald Bitton; vocal vo-cal solo, "Asleep in the Deep;" L. Bucklan; chorus sang, "I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go." Grandsons acted as pall bearers and granddaughters carried the many floral tributes. Interment was by hi3 wife, w ho proceeded him four years, in Grove city cemetery under the direction of the Sand, berg Funeral Home of Blackfoot. Orvil Miller of Shelley, Idaho, dedicated dedi-cated the grave. He had been active in the interest inter-est of irrigation and education. Many friends and relatives from Utah attended the services. - |
