Ik ' " Sill , lm tlPr ll LOREN DOUGLAS MERCER Loren Douglas Mercer, son of Lynne and Patsy Mercer, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at a Troop 2 1 8 Court of Honor held at the Bountiful Heights 24th Ward. For his Eagle project, Loren organized other scouts in assisting Bountiful City Parks Department in cleaning up the flower beds last fall. Loren has appreciated great scout leaders and achieved the Varsity Scout letter, Arrow of Light, and On My Honor Awards. Loren is a senior at Viewmont High where he is an honor student. He is currently employed at Wine-gar's. Wine-gar's. Working on the Math Line program for Davis County School District last year, Loren learned many facets of TV production. He entertained many of the neighborhood neighbor-hood children last summer with his "soaps" entitled "Days of Our Murders." He also taped an excellent excel-lent video of his sister's wedding day. Loren enjoys all types of sports, his favorites including waterskiing, motorcycling and basketball. CAMERON J. ROSE A court of honor was held Oct. 25 in the Bountiful Mueller Park Stake Center for Cameron J. Rose, who has earned the Eagle Scout award. For his Eagle service project, Cameron planned and supervised the addressing of the curbs of all the homes in the Maple Hollow area in order to assist the emergency emergen-cy services of Bountiful. This was done as a result of a Clipper article which pointed out how important the easy identification of residences resi-dences is in the response of emergency personnel. A native of California, Cameron "jumped right in" on moving to Bountiful Vi years ago. He is an CHRISTOPHER LUKER Christopher Luker, a member of Post 549 will receive his Eagle scout award at an Eagle court to be held at the Bountiful 10th Ward Tuesday, Oct. 27. For his Eagle project Chris made a video tape of the children in the area for future reference in case of need. Chris is a junior at Viewmont High School where he is extremely active in the band. He is also interested in-terested in airplanes, flying and also building them. His favorite badge was the aviation merit badge. Christopher is the son of Gordon and Marlene Luker. outstanding scholar, graduating from Bountiful High in 1987 with a 4.0 gpa, a class standing of 1, and was the general Sterling Scholar. He was awarded several scholarships scholar-ships and chose to accept the Trustees' Trus-tees' scholarship from BYU. He was also awarded a cash scholarship scholar-ship from the Utah State Board of Education. He is a sophomore at BYU, working on a double major of phy-sics phy-sics and music composition. Cameron is an excellent musician and has always been willing to share this talent in school, church, and the community. In this respect, re-spect, he was the youngest pianist in the "Rhapsody in Blue" segment seg-ment of the Los Angeles 1984 Olympics Opening Ceremonies. As a high school sophomore, excerpts ex-cerpts from his paper on theoretical theoretic-al astrophysics were published nationally na-tionally by Phillips Petroleum. He has received the religious scouting awards of "On My Honor" Hon-or" and "Duty to God." Cameron thanks those friends who helped him in the completion of the Eagle service project. |
