Show Good Advice. -En. Democrat: . The doctrine of abso-luteism abso-luteism so long taught by the Mormon church is now bearing fruits, the exponents expon-ents of that doctrine are now reaping its reward. It is no wonder that men who have all their lives preached and lived that doctrine should find it hard now to let go. They may want to, but somebody must help them to do it. If the 98 per cent, are anxious and willing for the 2 per cent, to do all their suffering for them, then I say they are dishonest and unfair. If the 98 per cent, uphold polygamy, let them go in and live it and share alike in dangers and suffering with their brethren. If not, let them at once advise "obedience to the laws" 98 per cent, would carry the day and leave the Lord to open the way. When He again desired the Saints to obey that commandment relating to celestial marriage can we expect the heads of the church to do this ? Of course not. They can not afford it, but they might not object ob-ject to have some one else do it for them, if it can be done to let them down easily, so let them men goon directing public opinion until public opinion says we will live within the law. The utterances of "Young Mormon" in the News of the 24th are the utterances of old times, when Mormons and Mormonism Mor-monism were supreme in this Territory, but to-day the United States government and its laws are supreme, "for God has witted it so," and "Young Mormon" has been . asleep like Rip Van Winkle for these twenty years and now comes forward for-ward and innocently expects everybody to know him. No, my boy, your hair is too gray, you are too much changed in j appearance, if not in heart. The times have changed ; events have left you behind be-hind ; the world ha3 gone forward while you were holding converse with the imps of the mountains and drinking the elixir that drowned ysur senses and made you sleep and dream, while the. world has been- advancing these twenty years. Wake up "Young man with the gray hair," it will be better for your own place of mind to accept the detection and conclude con-clude that the world has gone on without you these twenty years.
