Show BRIGHT OUTLOOK AT ST0CKT0X. Prof. Jerome Prince Invites the Attention At-tention of Boston Capitalists to That Solid Camp. Salt Lake City, Dec. 14, 1885. Ed. Democrat : Having just returned from the mining district of Ophir, where I have been for some time past 'examining 'examin-ing some properties. I would like to say j a few words through your paper concern- j ing the mining interests of Utah in the j near future, and how little our eastern capitalists, know of our promising, rich deposits of mineral lying almost in view. I have been testing and operating some claims on Lion Hill, Ophir, in which I have purchased two interests, and am surprised to see such chances neglected by capitalists here in Utah, for from present indications the mines in that section sec-tion bid fair to equal if not to excel, the best Davie 2 mines in Utah at present. I have notified of these facts, Colonel Moses H. Weber, Prof. W. J. Floyd, Edward Kavanagh, the treasurer of the Whittier Elevator Company, and Messrs. Sweatt and Chase, all of Boston, Mass., to meet me here as soon as possible, as I am desirous of getting our eastern capitalists capi-talists acquainted with and interested in the wonderfully rich mineral resources of this Territory. These gentlemen are men of ample means, and have replied that they will come at once, and are willing to invest on the strength of my reports. We expect to commence work as .soon as certain mines are purchased which I have already bonded. Being much pleased to write thus, I remain, Prof. Jerome Prince. |
