The cancer program at LDS Hospital has been awarded a three-year three-year approval by the Committee on Approvals of the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The approval process is administered adminis-tered by the Hospital Cancer Program Prog-ram (HCP) of the ACS and is intended in-tended to encourage participating hospitals to equip and staff themselves them-selves so they are able to provide the best in diagnosis and treatment of cancer. In its letter announcing the approval, the ACS said, "All elements ele-ments appear to be in place and functioning to provide an educational, educa-tional, multi-disciplinary exchange on cancer patient management, to encourage quality control and audits, and to monitor the success of primary and secondary treatment treat-ment through long-term follow-up.
