Show The Burlington's Plan. . . The San Francisco Chronicle of Decern-1 ber 29th bas the following : " It was reported re-ported on the streets yesterday that the sole reason for T. J. Potter's extended visit to this . coast was to make arrangements arrange-ments for securing control of terminal facilities fa-cilities for the Burlington in this 'city. The Burlington is said to bave secured a buyer's option on the property and franchises of the California and Nevada, which has a road running from tide water, in Oakland, to a short distance beyond San Pablo. - It is believed that the Burlington is about to commence the construction of a line from Frisco, the present terminus of the Utah Central, to a point on tho Southern Pacific, 5 and eventually to build an independent line to this city. According' io. the local authorities, au-thorities, "there is a railroad race between tho Chicago & Northwestern, the Burlington Bur-lington and the Atchison, in which each, is straining to be the first in securing an independent line to San Francisco. |
