for the honesty frpgalit and success with which it is conducting the sce i cductg affairs of government carrying out the acs goeent principles of Democracy in administerin public trusts and faith with th tts keeping fat wth te plic people respect for constitutional lawth protection of the rights of our fellow ct Zeus at home and abroad a desire taref the unjust inequalities of customs to redo taxation t limit the expenditures to acta necessities the revival of trade the increas lecete rTl te i of commerce the restoration of the u1 earned public lands to the peoples heritage the peace that land grants amounting t gts over 73000000 of acres and Also the further fact that i the Fortyeighth Congress the Democratic lower House passed the Beagan InterState Commerce bill which failed o passage in the Republican Senate also that in the last session o Congress the Ran bill was again psssed i the Demo cratic lower House Resolved That we denounce the infamous practice of bigamy polygamy and unlawful biamy plygay a uaw cohabitation and that we pledge our party to a strict and ricid enforcement the laws 1 against such ces and as a proof of ou sincerity we point with pride to the record a heretofore exercised exer-cised by the Mormon Church Resolved That wee unalterably opposed t Chinese immigration a demand the abrogation of the BurhngaraeSwift teat a legacy from the Republican party through whose loopholes slave labor creeps shores We pledge the best efforts apon ou plee te efor of the Democratic party of this Territory in pa favor of measures which shall permanently prohibu and prevent such immigration We I regard Chinese labor a an unmixed evil therefore we favor legislation providing for the deportation of the Chinese from this 11 deprton cut and their exclusion forever I the meantime pending proper legislation upon t this subject p Democratic party of I Idaho as a friend of free labor and i the interest of the people recognize the legal pple right of any citizen t employ whom he rght plea i yet we hold it i the right and duty of + the people of Idaho Territory t withhold te hold their patronage from the Chinese and tat such labor should not be resorted to when other character of labor i available Resolved That this convention is i favor of an act of Congress providing for the free coinage of both gold and silver by the terms which act both gold and silver bullion offered at the several mints and assay offices of the United States shall be received in exchange for gold or silver com or certificates at the j rte now fixed by law for standard dollars o gold and silver which certificates shall I be receivable for a public purposes and interchangeable for gold or silver a the pasejaay be and that there b no discrimination discrim-ination by United States Treasury officials i the use of gold and silver for any purpose whatever consistent with existing laws including I in-cluding the payment of the interest bearing I
