Show The Wool Industry in Danger i j i SAN FBAKciscovApril 12A meeting was held yesterday by persons interested in the i wool tradtj for the purpose J of taking such action as would inJluce the InterState I i i Commerce Commission to suspend section i i 4 of the InterState Commerce act as far as tit i i it relates to wools Under the present interpretation in-terpretation of the law the rato on wool to New York and Boston is 370 whereas the old rate was G2Kc per hundred pounds It i was claimed if the new rate was maintained main-tained the wool industry of California would be destroyed as the surplus product could not be sent East with profit A com mittcq was appointed to collect the necessary neces-sary information and forward it to the I I InterState Commission Wednesday next I I I The meeting adjourned at the call of the committee |
