Show THE CITY COUNCIL Petitions Considered Other Business Busi-ness KtiotIlolc Hampton Gets ThereAt There-At a meeting of the City Council last night the following petitions were considered con-sidered Charles B Carneys petition to the city t sell him the vacant lot at the corner of Fifth West and North Temple streets was not granted John Chapman asked for a free license to peddle fruits notions etc for one year Granted S G Bead petitioned for the remission remis-sion of his license and taxes That part of the petition relating to license was granted Councilor Wells said that two flumes were needed at the corner of Fifth East and Eighth South Streets and upon his motion they were ordered put in M W Taylor applied for the amount of taxes on lots which have been sold for taxes and reverted to the city Referred Re-ferred to the finance committee Certificates of tax sales for this and last year was referred to the finance committee com-mittee I The 35 bill of DrRichards for professional pro-fessional services to a teamster in the city employ who had his arm broken was allowed and the amount paid One thousand dollars were appropriated appropria-ted t the water master to pay the bill of David James Co for laying wooden pipes from the canal and connection with sprinkling hydrants The ordinance passed in regard to water rates made it necessary to appoint an assessor and collector of water rates On motion of counselor Grant B Y Hampton was appointed assessor and collector of water rates Adjourned for one week |
