Show THE WAR CRY The Salvationists Report The Hal I Iclujah Lasses I The following extract is taken from the War On tho official gazette of the Salvation Army for the Pacific Coast SALT LAKE CzrvSix Souls Fojr at the Barracks and Two when Visiting Cayenne Pepper Breaks a Meeting Up Since our last report we have been firing some heavy shots into the ranks of the enemy We have succeeded in getting a hal and have been firing away at the devil in the open air and indoors large crowds come to hear the simple words of the Hallelujah Lasses and ot course the devil dont like it One Saturday night one ot his agents scattered cayenne pepper pep-per through the hal and our meeting was completely broken up but he overstepped over-stepped his mark as usual We made up our minds to pay him back on Sunday Sun-day and bless the Lord we did Four souls wept their way t Calvary that day one in each meeting beginning at knee drill At night we rejoiced over the spoil and shouted the victory on the Lords side Two precious souls got saved in their homes when we were out visiting To God be all the glory Comrades pray for Salt Lake The Pioneer Lasses CAPT LIZZIE KIEFEKT LIEUT MAUD SUAKP In the same paper are simular reports from Ogden and Provo In Ogden eight in the fountain are reported and in Provo three soul have been barracked bar-racked and the Mormons entertain the temperance people in a hearty manner The War Cry is a red hot Salvation Army temperance paper edited rather oddly and presents a somewhat sensational sensa-tional appearance In the number left on our desk is a birdseye view of San Francisco and the portraits of several Pacific Coast Army temperance leaders including that of tie editor of the Cry and W J Cozens DO of Southern Idaho and Utah |
