| Show P BL gives students a competitive edge in the business world Submitted by PEL HIS year Phi Beta f THIS Lambda has grown in every aspect of its it's creed education service and progress The membership increased increased increased in in- creased more than ten percent percent percent per per- cent to help them win the Largest Chapter in the State award and the National Membership Achievement award They participated in the state competition competitions which involved involved involved in in- completing several activities activities activities ac ac- ac- ac and won third place in state project competition The local chapter also won fourth place for their Annual Business Report Delegates from the chapter recently attended the Western Region Conference in Seattle the State Conference Conference Conference Con Con- ference in Park City and the State Leadership Conference in Orem At the leadership conference 45 delegates contended contended contended con con- tended in several business competition events PEL claimed 36 state crowns at the conference higher than any other school Twelve first and second place winners will compete at the National Leadership Conference Conference Conference Con Con- ference in Washington DC D.C. July 5 o On campus is known for the Book Swap sponsored quarterly The swap allows students to sell books at fair prices and earn 80 percent of J. A t Q I w t 4 the selling value while the students can purchase books at a fair price Handling over books books- this year alone the swap is the largest fundraiser for the club In the community has become involved in RIF in-RIF RIF Reading Is Fundamental at Granger Elementary School teaching children to read The club has also been selling coupon books as a fund raiser The cha chapter pter is proud to show off two members members members mem mem- bers as officers on the 1990 91 State Board David Dahlgren Vice-President Vice and Ernie Forsyth Secretary is also sponsoring Hope Gregg as an entry in the Miss Teen Utah Scholarship Pageant We are proud of our accomplishments accomplishments accomplishments ac ac- ac- ac said faculty advisor Ann Gregg In fact we are sure that people who become involved in the up- up coming and-coming Phi Beta Lambda organization will gain the competitive edge in inthe inthe inthe the business world by developing skills that the classroom experiences do not allow them to develop For more information call or see An in BB |
