Show McEwee pleads guilty FARMINGTON--A Syracuse man pleaded guilty to automobile homicide in Second District Court Tuesday. Rodnew McEwen, 22, of 2144 W. 2175 South, had the charges of automobile homicide reduced from a first degree to third degree felony for pleading to the lesser charge. On May 17, 1986, Mr. McEwen had consumed some alcohol with friends when he traveled to Crown Family Entertainment in Clearfield, Clear-field, according to court records. While there, he drank more alcoholic alcoho-lic beverages and talked to Debra Clark. Ms. Clark asked Mr. McEwen to give her a motorcycle ride. While driving his motorcycle with Ms. Clark on the back, Mr. McEwen wrecked. Ms. Clark died as a result re-sult of the motorcycle crash, according to court records. Mr. McEwen will be sentenced by Judge Douglas L. Corneby on Aug. 26, at 1:30 p.m. The sentence for a third degree felony is 0-5 years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine. |
