By PAULA HUFF FARMINGTON - A new phone system for the Davis County Courthouse will be installed within the next eight weeks, according to Director of Administrative Services Ser-vices VerNon Griffith. In the regular Wednesday commission com-mission meeting, the three county commissioners unanimously agreed to contract with Skaggs Telecommunications for a new phone system. "The current system has reached its capacity for growth," Mr. Griffith said in a telephone interview. in-terview. "The biggest improvement improve-ment (the new system offers) is that it will give us the ability to add l more telephone lines." The new specialized telephone computer will give the courthouse the ability to create more telephone lines and dispatchers in the Davis County Sheriff Department better telephone performance. Dispatchers will be able to hear phone conversations better with the new system, Mr. Griffith said. The system will also automatically connect the dispatch with Mountain Moun-tain Bell lines if the main computer becomes inoperable. County officials do not anticipate antici-pate any major changes with the system, according to Mr. Griffith, although some phone numbers may be changed. |
