Show Communications Visits Broadcast House Last Tuesday rues day evening Kelly J Weldon and Loretta Walkers Walker's Comm class visited Channel 5 s Television and Radio Station The studios are part of Broadcast House located in the towery location called the Triad Center After a somewhat brief tour of the facilities the class along with other visitors enjoyed observing the live six ix o'clock news broadcast Watching the live broadcast was interesting and very informative It was apparent that Dick Norse Bruce Lindsay and their entire crew know and perform their jobs well It was a true show of professionalism The tour of Broadcast House included seeing the entire news reporting process in action This consisted of observing many people from staffers to anchor people gathering assembling writing editing and presenting the news Also during the tour the class was shown most unique radio station It is said that has the by yr Mark f Hof heins i most advanced station in the nation During this part of the tour visitors were able abl to see Tom Bach in hi action performing his live radio show The radio station is one of a kind in its design and construction Welcon and Walkers Walker's Comm is an Introduction To TV Broad Broad- casting This class is is taught once each year in the Spring quarter has its own television studio here at the campus and teaches students and television production skills In previous years some students have been hired at local stations because of the skills gained in the class The television studio on campus is used for much more than the Comm class Weldon is continuously doing productions for clubs organizations organizations organizations and others on campus Weldon is presently working on a presentation project that will go to Governor Bangerter Co Communication nm has also been involved in this production |
