Show lions club meeting benjamin K iless hess president of the monticello lions L A odette and wm win C walton returned from salt lake city wednesday where they had attended the lions club convention international lions club president harold P nutter camden N J was in attendance and spoke to the large group of the rapid growth and expansion of in the united states as well as in many other countries mr and mrs nutter recently completed a tour of latin american countries and mr nutter noted that is progressing there against the odds of high costs and poor living liking conditions in south america A large number of district and state leaders from utah colorado nevada and wyoming and arizona had assembled to hear the very fine program which included interesting talks from gov J bracken lee and mayor earl J glade as well as the many reports on lions club service projects an especially enjoyable feature of the convention said mr hess was the music furnished by the provo lions club quartet who won second place in an international competition of lions club quartets and the cedar city quartet who have been the winner of a 2 first place and second place in the past several years al competitions monday evening mr and a n d mrs nutter were hon honored ored at a reception and banquet at the newhouse hotel at which there were probably 2000 lions in attendance the monticello L lions ions club will meet in a business meeting in at a p m in the county court our house no doubt club members will be anxious to attend and hear the enthusiastic reports of the convention ven tion |
