Show blanding news BLANDING SNOW STORY frost blacks cat went to the I 1 mountain mounta irr to clear the road in order for tunnel workers to get home for Christ christmas maso for several days the road stayed open hors es and men went back to finish I 1 the job the of december the day after the breakthrough halt half a dozen cars went right up there without having to use any chains the next day was a different story when workmen started to the he t mountain they were unable to get any further than the creek crossing in johnson creek vet bradford and a companion attempted to walk up but were unable to get further than the grove where they encountered 18 inches of new snow on new years day merrill stevens and harold mosley made another attempt to get to the tunnel to get the horses and the cat that has been left there with chains on a tractor they were unable to get farther than the grove from there they walked the rest of the way and it proved to be a most terrible trip they were four hours getting the rest of the way and found thirty inches of new snow at the tunnel the return trip was slow cold and very trying on the steep dug ways the snow kept sliding down and had to he be cleaned out many times they changed off riding the tractor because bec ause it throw threw so much snow on them that it was terribly cold the horses were so covered with snow that their color was completely changed at two 0 clock in the morning mr bradford met them at the cattle guard at the entrance of the forest with a pickup here they left their equipment and went back next morning to get it it was a hazardous trip and vet says of it money cant buy service such as these men rendered mr and mrs frost black went to salt lake tuesday on business they took their daughter renee to have a checkup also in their party was betty ann bradford who has gone to buy her fier trousseau I 1 in preparation for her marriage in feb dale stevens son of the late edward M and evelyn B stevens returned to his home wednesday he spent part of the holiday season in blanding at the home of his uncle grant bayles visits were made to people who are considered old folks of the community by the members of the old folks committee during the holidays they were very grateful to be remembered at this time mrs emma burnham is spend ing a few days in ogden visiting at the home of her son owen and family kermit and helen redd and their family were blandia visitors for three days during the holidays |
