total ot of seven children and twenty one LAL I 1 NEWS mr and mrs will guymon have spent the past month at mack colorado with their youngest daughter hattie jones and her family they were there for christmas but were called home thursday to the bedside of their son ervin who was very ill at the grand county hospital he was rushed there for an emergency operation the saturday before christmas however at the present time mr guymon is making a very rapid recovery sickness hit twice the same week in the guymon family mr morley guymon suffered a heart attack and must be confined to his bed for several weeks mr clarence rogers and his young daughters sandra and lydia returned to blanding sunday night the little girls enjoyed a visit with salt lake relatives while their daddy attended to business mr and mrs cardon jones and daughters betty ann and donna visited with relatives thursday and friday from their home at mack colorado cardon is quite busy with his new job as president of the branch of the latter day saints church at blanding people to know that cardon will perform the marriage ceremony at the marriage of annetta nix daughter of jay and lucille johnson nix on the of january at fruita colo mr and mrs frank barton had as dinner guests at their home saturday evening mr and an mrs andrew peterson margaret and vint jones susan butt and minnie johnson motored to gallup new mexico sunday morning to take marjean butt to meet her bus she has spent the th christmas holidays with her family and now has gone to resume her job in the office of a los angeles air craft company mrs hazel lynian lyman entertained the harold butt and R ray lyman fam ilys atelier home wednesday in honor of marjean butt and harold lyman mrs lyman served a delicious luncheon and most of the evening was spent in playing bingo and laughing ethel thompson arlene ebelt and barbara were other special guests mrs ray lyman and susan butt were hostesses to all adult members of the W C lyman family saturday evening at the home of ray lyman mrs reva redd entertained members of the san juan high school alumni group with a waffle supper at her home during the holiday week mrs wilma barr is visiting from her home in salt lake at the home of her parents mr and mrs hyrum porter her youngest son came with her she spent some time with her brother gene and family in monticello mr and mrs bill black are rejoicing over the arrival of t their heir second son at the grand county hospital sunday his brother and four sisters will be happy when he can come home A baby girl was born in to the family circle of mr and mrs melvin hurst sunday at the county hospital miss lucy harris has gone to salt lake for a short visit with grandchildren in august of 1920 arile f filed on ground at horsehead and with his wife and five children moved there the following spring their home has been at horsehead for the past thirty her sisters gene pease an and mary olson and their families she is taking advantage of the time the elk ridge cafe will be closed for remodeling PRIESTS HONOR ADVISOR the priests of the blanding ward took supper down to the home of bf fred lyman friday evening in his honor mr lyman has been the advisor of the group for nearly six years and has recently received his release FORMER BLANDING COUPLE IN IRAN mr and mrs troy walker who have lived in blanding for the past three or four years are one of the couples who have been sent to iran by the B Y university for educational purposes they expect to be gone for several years and are very enthusiastic over the daughter margie as far as salt lake on her way back to work in north dakota on the way to salt lake they will visit with mr and mrs george A hurst sr in manti KENT REDD HONORED WITH PARTY PART Y AT WARD HALL A large crowd of towns people gathered friday evening at the ward hall in honor of kent I 1 redd who leaves jan 7 to enter the mission home in salt lake city tha evening was spent in social dancing parleys sunday evening the parley redd family was again honored by a testimonial prepared by the seventies quorum the speakers were ashton harris ruth parley and kent redd and alma redd joe hunt and hyrum porter played a violin duet duct eugene and david nielson sang a vocal duet and darwin jones sang the holy city the special numbers were accompanied by mamie adams and lalah mathison i kent goes g oes to the north western states entertains WITH ANNUAL BREAKFAST mrs minnie johnson entertained a group of seven women at a very lovely special breakfast at hr home at nine am dec 27 the guests were ethel thompson margaret lyman susan butt hattie R barton marion nielson myrtle hunt and myrtle dalton the table was beautifully decorated and a lovela hand painted cup and saucer was presented as a favor to each guest by mrs johnson this breakfast has become an annual affair at the johnson home mr and mrs dean wilson came to blanding from the their home in provo to be with the parley redd family before kent goes to t the he mission fie field id mrs wilson will be remembered aps s jacque redd walt Hart laurer and finley bayles took peggy niels nielson on and mildred wright back to their school in st george tuesday while the boys are gone they may go over to los angeles for a few days |
