Show MEETING OF REBUS ROTA CLUB HELD NOVEMBER 22 0 A regular meeting of the rebus rota club was held on friday november 22 at the home of mrs K it bailey with a f ine fine attendance in spite of the severe storm which made travel hazardous all dav daiy A report and proof sheets were presented ted for approval in regard to the printing of the year book and a motion was made and carried to have the cover inscription printed in red ink to carry out the club color scheme of red and white final report concerning the annual banquet was presented by the chairman mrs john redd who announced a balance of money on jn hand which will be turned into the club treasury A motion was made mada and carried to offer a word of appreciation to the banquet committee for their efficient service and management mana glement of the banquet held last month mrs george AT palmer reported that a recent letter received concerning the ten commandments in printed form suitable for display in the schools indicates that the only kind available are painted on small card 3 altho a plan is underway to secure a larger size in scroll form it was vas moved and carried to delay action on the matter for another month in order to await the final decision of the state federation committee which is now considering larger form the business meeting was adjourned and the president called on the program chairman to take charge mrs ray V redd chairman for the afternoon then presented senta d principal glen hansen who delivered a fine talk on the e need for closer contact between parent and teacher in behalf of the students mr hansen said it is important to have a complete P ete accurate record of the accomplishments of every child in school record should be complete enough so that every parent could receive guidance for their child from these the se records the state department is contemplating on creating a new type of folio where the accomplishments desir desires bs interests and eions ti ons of leadership can be indicated even though the monticello high school is accredited by the state department of education we arn am trying to raise our standards ar so that the school may mav become a member of the northwestern association of secondary schools there are 74 secondary schools in the state of utah and less lees than 25 per cent of these belong to this association here is something to aim for an and it requires the cooperation of every teacher student and parent to attain it cooperation is the key note of success in any undertaking the e u usual 1 e enjoyable n j ble social hour anth she boya and luncheon 1 u n c on c closed d the meet mg the next meeting of the club will he be held on december 5 at the home of mrs claude foy |
