| Show pioneer of san juan county passes after long period of invalidism C L christensen christens en answers last call at the home of his daughter mrs william B hyde when failing health made it necessary for mr C L christenson to require constant care he was removed from f rom his home in moab and brought to his daughters home in monticello where he has lived since last fall dur ane these many months mrs hyde aveen peen his devoted companion anty and nurse with what help other members member of his family could give from time to time during the past few months mr christensen suffered numerous sinking spells but seemed to rally again and carry on his optimistic ti outlook on life and to hat chat with relatives and friends who made him periodical periodic al visits on monday morning he was stricken with another sinking spell from which he could not rally and during the early hours of tuesday morning he passed into the great beyond to pick up the thread of association and contact with his loved ones who have gone on before him funeral services I 1 i ces for mr christensen chistensen will be held today in in the L D S church and will be b e attended by many out of town relatives and friends in addia addit addition ion to those who live close by an account will be given in the next issue of the record as well as an interesting story of his early experiences as a pioneer of san juan county written by himself more than 10 years ago 0 mr C L christensen was born in in aarhus denmark di n april 29 1855 the son of neils C christensen and karen neilson when five years of age his parents brought him to america and they settled in ephriam utah in 1874 he married ann elizabeth thompson of st george utah and ten children were born of a 3 union nine of whom sur ibe they are mrs C A burr mrs mm W B hyde mrs rone bailey mrs tom evans mrs duff beason C it and wilford christensen all of monticello N J christensen of cane springs and john christensen of roosevelt utah nis second wife who survives him is seran christensen of mo 1 ab nine children were born of this union six of whom are liv well mrs airs albert maxwell mrs ing they are mrs jess max tom taylor mrs thelma fernsworth and neils C christensen christ ensen all of moab and neldon christensen of salt lake city mr christensen settled in bluff ir 90 and for il many years was I i cheriff he riff of san juan county ren he returned to moab to live he be became justice of the peace there which office he held until about 10 years ago when he retired from public life lie he was also a missionary mis to the indians in arizona for many years mr christensen was a kind father and loving husband and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved hini him |
