Show A MISNOMER among the of publicity material that reaches our desk each week is a leaflet entitled looking forward by franklyn waltman publicity director republican national committee since we are intensely interested in the future of this country and the solution of our economic and social ills the editor has followed this little publication rather closely for a number of issues with the result that we have been forced to the conclusion that its title is clearly a misnomer since it offers no plan for the future nor charts any new course to lead us into a saner safer national economy on the contrary it is purely negative and devoted to the discrediting and destruction of such reforms as have been evolved by the present administration we do not believe in this brand of political expediency it is a very easy matter to find fault tear down and discredit it is quite another thing to find and initiate improvements prove ments but this policy of criticising criticizing critic ising and finding fault seems to be inherent to a party out of power we remember that the democrats were often accused with good grounds of the same tactics when they were outside looking in to merit the confidence and support of the people party leaders should be big enough to recognize and acknowledge the good accomplished by a rival party in power while condemning the bad above all they should have a well defined course of action mapped for the future and in the light of our past experiences it will be necessary to suggest something better than the return to the blind alley in in which we found ourselves at the close of the hoover administration |
