Show local relief society holds social spotlight the local relief society organization held the center of the so cial stage last week friday when they staged their annual banquet program and ball living up to their well established reputation of never doing things by halves the ladies set out a spread fit for a king and served well over a hundred people of nearly all ages the viands were contributed and prepared by the sisters of the relief society and the feast was free to all paid in advance members and their escorts the menu consisted of fruit cocktail salad roast beef potatoes and other pie and after dinner mints it was all very tastily prepared and much enjoyed by those present the banquet was followed by an interesting and amusing program and a grand ball concluded the evenings festivities thomas evans with his violin anda and a pianist furnishing fine music the dance was somewhat handicapped for lack of someone who could call the old style square dances that some of the older people could have enjoyed but this did not prevent the majority from having a rollicking good time which usually results where there is a mixed crowd embracing nearly all ages the relief society has now resumed its regular weekly meetings as well as its routine welfare work |
