Show Christmas T alk S. M SOOEKSEn SPEAKS FOR CHAMBER (Editor's Note: herewith are the Christmas sentiments senti-ments expressed so ably by S. Morgan Sorensen at the Sugar House chamber of commerce Christmas luncheon lunch-eon Wednesday at Beau Brummcl.) CHRISTMAS TIME IS A BEAUTIFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! Not particularly in its physical physi-cal properties, for the drab-ness drab-ness of winter can certainly not match the awakening grandeur of Spring, the Flowers Flow-ers and the bright Sunlight of Summer, nor the riot of nature's na-ture's color in Autumn. The beauty of Christmas time is found in its sentiments. We are all "sentimentalists" at heart, whether we are big bruising he-men, or love-sick teen-agers. It is this sentimentality sentimen-tality that makes the story of the birth of Jesus move us us deeply. It has made Dickens Dick-ens immortal Christmas Carol, a world famous story, and has made Bing Crosby's record of "White Christmas" sell over 7,000,000 copies. Christmas might mean many different things to different people, but to most of us it is Santa Claus, Christmas Trees and Glittering Lights. It is Roast Turkey, stuffed with sage or oyster dressing, and Plum Pudding with a wee bit of kick in the sauce. To some of us it is Corn Plasters for Tired Feet, Nerve Tonic for Frayed Nerves and Aspirin for Headaches; or it might be Milling Crowds of last minute shoppers the Ringing of the Salvation Army Bell asking for help for the needy. AHof these are the sentiments of Christmas. There is one sentiment which overshadows all of the rest, and that is contained in the story of the Birth of Christ when the Angels sang Peace on Earth, Goodwill Toward Men, and the Wisemen brought Gifts and laid at His Master's feet. Within the next few days we will all exchange Gifts. We will all receive what some-Continued some-Continued on Page 3 hand. Look often at its faultless beauty. Consider it the most treasured of possessions for of all Gifts, ure holds the possibilites this Gift offers; none can surpass its golden splendor. Of all Gifts, this is the most precious. It has been offered many times before; soon from the depths of a boundless love, it will be given again. "It will be left to you to find the golden thread running run-ning through it.
