Show PRISON SITE PARK GROUP IS NAMED; TO PICK SEVENTH Mayor Earl J. Glade and Salt Lake County C ommission Chairman LaMont B. Gunderson this week elected six men to study the future of the old Utah state prison property, proposed for a city park.. The six will meet soon and ap point a seventh. The group was appointed to make a study and was empowered "to do the job." The old prison site, long an eyesore to Sugar House folk, thus makes its first concrete move into becoming a useful, beautiful and a worthwhile civic project. Chairman Gundersen named Commissioner Edwin Q. Cannon, Ray D. Free, Sugar House chamber cham-ber of commerce president, and Otto Buehner, respected southeast manufacturer; and Mayor Glade appointed Commission L. C. Rom-ney, Rom-ney, Richard S. Robert, secretary of the Salt Lake Building Trades council, and L. Pierce Brady, manager of Zion's Securities, as the sextette to start the ball rolling. |
