Show UTAH PHEASANT BROOD NORMAL The annual fall census of pheasants pheas-ants throughout Utah shows an average or greater number of birds on hand for the 1955 season, according ac-cording to the Utah department of fish and game. The department said pheasant brood counts are taken each year during August to determine success suc-cess of the spring hatch and early rearing period. The commission set the opening open-ing day of the annual pheasant hunt as November 11, some two months ago to accommodate shooters shoot-ers wishing to plan ahead for this event. Brood count totals this year show an average of 5.41 young birds per brood. This compares favorable with the 4.12 birds per brooS counted during 1954. |
