During the recent drive for Christmas boxes for hospitalized veterans the local P"t went way over its quota -thanks to ' the industry of the committee members who worked tirelessly under the chairmanship of Cliff Husbands, and to the generosity of Sugar House business firms and individuals in-dividuals who donated generously gener-ously to make the boxes reallv worth while for the vets. Increasing calls for information informa-tion and advice to veterans on buy at the Veterans' hospital I closest to your home, or the one best suited to handle your ca.se. (Within existing facilities.) q. Will 1 have to pay for this care' A. Not if you sign a statement you are unable to pay the cost of hospitalization and treatmet Q. Call for a representative of the Veterans' Administration or an American Legion service officer of-ficer and he will help you to prepare a claim. Q. If 1 become totally and permanently disabled from a cause not due to service am I e'igihle for a pension? A. Yes, subject to certain service requirements and an income in-come limitation. Q. If I am, not a Legion member may I ask for help from a Legion service officer? A. The American Legion helps all veterans. benefits, insurance, tr. bill of rights and similar subjects are being received w post members, and it is requested that all such inquiries be directed di-rected by John G. If I want to borow money mon-ey to buy a house how do I go about if? A. Go to your own bank or building and loan association. Q. Won't the government lend me anything? A- No. The government merely mere-ly insures or indorses half of the amount of your loan up to $2000. (. I have a friend who wants to buy a $10,000 house, what will he do? A. If he has good credit and prospects of a good income, the Veterans' Administration will insure $2000 of the amount. Q. "Why was this arrangement arrange-ment fnade? A. Because many men with good earning power have been in service a long time and their savings have been used during their absence in the armed forces. O. May I borrow money to buy a farm or set myself up in business? A. Yes, you may borrow money mon-ey under this plan for any business busi-ness which you are qualified to operate. You also may borrow bor-row money to repair your house, pay taxes and to buy farm machinery, equipment and livestock. live-stock. Q.
