Granite Presents Noted Contralto Mona Bradford, beautiful and gifted operatic contralto, will he presented Thursday night I at 8:15 p.m. at the Granite high auditorium" in the fourth con- 1 cert offering of the season by the Granite Arts association. Miss Bradford whose rich, dark velvety tones .have won her applause across the United States is possessed of a glowing brunette beauty as magnificent as her voice. She started musical career under well known coach, John Patton of California but after serious training as a pianist to add to her musicianship, musician-ship, she went to Chicago to study under the famous Metropolitan Met-ropolitan diva, Anna Fitzu. In the fall of 1940, felly prepared pre-pared for a brilliant enreer, she became a member of rho Chicago Chi-cago Opera company. Her debut, de-but, with an all star Metropolitan Metropol-itan cast won an ovation from the press. To quote the Chi-.cago Chi-.cago Sun: "To Mona Bradford went the honors of Cavallerta. She coupled an exquisite sense of drama with full-bodied tone and variety of color that drew her hearty, well-earned applause." ap-plause." Her debut recital took place in- 1941. ;t which time the celebrated critic, Claudia Cas-sidy Cas-sidy said: The fairy god-mothers evidently went en masse to this girl's christening. She is a beautiful brunette with a voice to match the girl . . . A big voluminous contralto ample am-ple m range and rich in inflection inflec-tion of the music she sings . . .
