Show EObt, Halgren File for Board of Education Posts Two new candidates filed last week for positions on the Salt Lake City board of education from the Sixth municipal ward. Ten days ago Horace B. Richards, Rich-ards, 2509 -Beverly St., incumbent, incum-bent, filed his candidacy for reelection. re-election. R. C. Elliot, 2337 East and Dr L. 0- Halgren, 2576 9th East filed for places on the ballot for the Dec 1 election. Issues of Election When citizens go to the polls they will be faced with a proposed pro-posed bond issue of $2,50O,00C forJaiilding construction and a siCjl 1-mill levy for additions at Tvo elementary schools and at West and East High schools. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to R. Y Gray, board clerk Polling places now are being set up and judges are being selected. R. C. Elliot, prominent local businessman, is a past president presi-dent of the Western Woolgrow-ers Woolgrow-ers Assn. and is at present a director. Born in St. Louis, Mo., for the past 20 years he has been a resident of southeast Salt Lake where he built his home and raised his family. He is a member mem-ber of the Salt Lake Country Club.
