Show Horowitz Is Soloist Dec. 9 ' .Vladimir Horowitz, generally "rated the outstanding pianist in the world today, will be guest soloist with the Utah Symphony Orchestra Saturday night, Dec. 9, at the Salt Lake Tabernacle, in what promises to be one of the highlight concerts of the 1950-51 season. ' Horowitz has made only one previous appearance in Utah and this perfromnace has been awaited eagerly by music fans for months. A capacity crowd is expected to hear the great pianist with the symphony. BRILLIANT PROGRAM - Conductor Maurice Abravanel has outlined a brilliant program. Horowitz will play Tscfiaikow-sky's Tscfiaikow-sky's Piano Concerto in B-flat Minor, the same selection that he played in his American debut de-but 22 years back. Also on the program will be Debussy's colorful "I"beria which as never been played in Utah before. A thrilling performance per-formance is expected by Utah's enlarged 86-piece orchestra un- ! der the magnificent directorship of Mr. Abravanel.
