Show Protest to be Made On Taxicab Situation John C. Barnes of the chamber cham-ber of commerce has anounced that a city commission hearing will likely be called soon on proposal to require taxicab companies com-panies to establish a starting zone in the southeast area. "The Sugar House chamber." said Mr. Barnes, "has continually continual-ly protested against the double pay rate charged in the Sugar House area. Although many tax-icabs tax-icabs are constantly parked here, customers are compelled to pay fare for the cab coming from and returning to town which amounts to about 75 cents penalty penal-ty on Sugar House patrons. "It is the opinion of the Sugar House ehamber that unless conditions con-ditions can be remedied, we shah ask to have all cabs removed from the area," Mr. Barnes said, he is presenting an official protest pro-test on the matter to public safety safe-ty commissioner L. C Romney. |
